IGNITE STUDENT MINISTRIES

What is Ignite all about? The mission behind the name is to 'ignite' a passion for God, for others,

and for reaching the world. It is a call for students to deepen their faith by becoming more like Jesus.

The goal is to create an environment where students aren’t merely attending Middle School Ignite or High School Ignite, but where the Holy Spirit can set a fire (Ignite) within each student a desire to have a closer relationship with Jesus. We also want them to find community within their peers where they can experience fellowship and accountability. Among these things, we want the students to go and make disciples in their friend groups, sports teams, and schools!

We partner with parents and the whole church to minister to youth in grades 6-12 by building relationships, studying the Bible, discussing faith-related topics, and serving together.

Our youth programs provide a space for students to learn and grow in their faith with one another.

All students are welcome, and we hope to see you there!

Day Down East

On July 11th, we will be taking all grades on a day trip to Sawyer's Fun Park and a Down East Bird Dawgs game. We will be leaving Garber at 2pm (please arrive by 1:45pm) and arriving at the Trampoline Park a little after 3:00pm. We will be there for around 2 hours, and then we will head to Kinston for dinner. After dinner, we will make our way to the Grainger Stadium for a Down East Bird Dawgs baseball game! The game will begin at 7:00pm. After the game, we will be heading straight back to the church. Please be prepared for a late return to New Bern! I am estimating that we will get back between 11pm and 11:30pm. The cost of this trip will be $50. The trampoline park also has an arcade area, so if students want to play some of the arcade games, they will need to bring money for it. This money needs to be turned in by Monday, July 10th. This will take care of the trampoline park, baseball game, and dinner. The cost can be paid by cash or check. If writing a check, it can be made out to Garber Church. If any financial assistance is needed, please contact me. All students MUST have their student ministry forms filled out, notarized, and turned in by July 10th if they have not done so already. Busch Gardens 2025

What? The student ministry is taking a trip to Busch Gardens! We will spend all day at the Busch Gardens amusement park. The students will be able to ride a bunch of different roller coasters and rides, enjoy fellowship with one another, and eat! We will be stopping halfway for breakfast, and stopping halfway on the trip back for dinner.

Who? All grades 6-12 (completed)

Where? Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA. (1 Busch Gardens Blvd., Williamsburg, VA 23185)

When? August 6th; 6:30am- 9:30pm/10:00pm

Cost? $60 cash or check. This includes the ticket & 1 meal (lunch voucher at the park), and transportation. Students will need to bring money for breakfast and dinner (we will be stopping at McDonald's for breakfast and Bojangles for dinner, so I would recommend $25 plus any money they want to spend at the park). If assistance is needed, please contact jhardin@garberchurch.org. The lunch voucher will only cover an entrée and a drink, so if more food is wanted, they will have to bring extra money.

Ignite Student Ministry forms and the money must be turned in by August 5th.

Middle School Lock-In

Who's ready for a lock-in?!

We will be having an overnight stay at Garber Church for our middle school students! This night will be packed full of fun, fellowship, games, worship, food, and much more! Feel free to invite your friends! Look below for more details:

WHERE: Garber Church- Student Ministry Room

WHO: Grades 6-8 (completed)

WHEN: August 8-9; 6:00pm-8:00am

COST: NOTHING; totally free for all students

MEALS: Dinner and breakfast plus a ton of snacks!

What to bring:

- Bible

- Change of clothes

- Sleeping bag and pillow

- Toiletry items

- Water bottle

- Extra snacks (if wanted)

- A friend! (make sure they sign up as well though)
